We implemented the “Clean tooth is a healthy tooth” Project in kindergartens, which aimed to educate children about oral hygiene and the prevention of dental caries. The importance of proper use of oral hygiene products for the health of the teeth and oral cavity was promoted by the acquisition and distribution of oral hygiene products along with the demonstration of proper brushing techniques.
The reason for the creation of this project is the fact that the frequency of dental caries is increasing in children as the most common disease of the oral cavity. The cause of this phenomenon is the increasing availability and consumption of industrially processed and sweetened food along with inadequate oral hygiene. This problem mostly affects children of pre-school and school age because the teeth at that age are more susceptible to caries.
Our specialist in children’s dentistry, dr. Dora Mohenski, with the support of associates Curaprox and Colgate&Palmolive, made an effort to give more than two hundred children of the Sunčana Kindergarten an impression of the proper implementation of oral hygiene.
